Cader-Tot

Heavens to Betsy, so much has happened since the last time I blogged! Cade, 9 mon. now, is growing like a WEED and accomplishing milestones as if he were in a marathon! He almost has 4 teeth, but the top 2 aren't quite down yet. He's beginning to pull up on almost everything. He recently learned to wave "Hi"...it was so sweet... we were practicing in the mirror at each other, and when I sat him down on the floor, one of our cats walked by and he WAVED at her! I got soO0Oo tickled when I saw it, as I'm sure you can only imagine! Oh! AND, he is about to say his 1st word... FINALLY! I'm pretty darn sure it's going to be "Hello!" And, to tell you the truth, I called that one when he was like 3 months old... Oh, I know, I am just too SMART. Let's see, what else?... His 1st Birthday is right around the corner in September, and I've already found the CUTEST little theme ever. It's got little firetrucks and #1's on it (the firetrucks are an ode to my brother, Lucas, who is training to be a firefighter). He can finally sit up on his own, now. And, NOT-SO-MUCH diggin' the whole table food transition... Mr. Man just does not like that texture! (The pic is from his day outside in the front yard... feeling the SUN on his face--too funny!)

Little Champ

So, two teeth later, not a FUSS! Cade has been such a little SWEETIE during this whole teething process, I am AMAZED! He's still just as happy as any baby could be. It's so funny, because now, he's starting to get the leg motions down to actually CRAWL...he followed me into the kitchen the other day when I left him in the living room to make a bottle! My little man has also started mimicking sounds like "Mmmm" during dinner, and "Aack!" when he gets excited (like when I play peek-a-boo from under his exersaucer). And now, the flip... he starts to cry when you take something away from him... Oh, man, I am NOT digging that! He also gets mad when I pull him away from where he has worked SO hard to get to...the shiny drawer handles on the entertainment center. But he eventually gets the drawer open and I've GOT to move him. My 1st Mother's Day was absolutely PERFECT! We got a lot of family photos taken, BBQ'd and spent time with the whole family at my house. I still remember last year when I was pregnant and asked my mom why she didn't wish me "Happy Mother's Day"? Her response: "Because it doesn't count." Thanks, Mom. (The pic is from Mother's Day, check out Cade's 1st mohawk!)

Milestones

Holy TOLEDO! Time sure does fly by when your baby is growing up! And, a sweet guy I know just started getting his first little tooth on Tuesday! I was giving him some juice-or, at least attempting to-from a plastic breakfast cup, and as his little tongue was dipping in and out of the glass (like a puppy), I kept hearing this "tap, tap, tap." Wondering what in the world I was hearing, I put the cup down and felt around on his lower gums. Sure enough... I felt a TOOTH! I got so tickled and excited I started celebrating him and praising his milestone, all the while tearing right up! He thought I was pretty funny. And, on top of all that silliness, he almost started to CRAWL Tuesday night, too! How crazy is that?!? It's so funny to watch. He's got the whole push/pull thing down, so he can make it a few feet before he's worn himself slick, but when he tries the actual leg movements, he just looks like he's swimming on the floor- so CUTE! The best part is... he only wants to get to the big doggie that he got from the EASTER BUNNY! I like to think I did good. The pics are from Easter morning, Cade all dressed up with his new doggie. By the way, it's DOGGIE and not puppy for the simple fact that puppies are not that BIG... and I'm trying to get a good start on as little confusion as possible.

Semi-Annual Cade

Ok, so it’s April 2, and Cade is now officially 6 ½ months old! Check out the CUTE little pic I got of him yesterday, while he was playing in his crib. Doesn't he look like he is going to be just plain AWNRY?!? OMG! He’s growing up so fast, I can’t even BELIEVE it. As silly as it may sound, I have already been pondering the thought of a 1st Birthday Party… I mean, come on, it’s probably the ONLY one that I will ever get to pick out as far as THEME goes, and toys, and so on. Who knows, next year he could possible want something along the lines of Barney-UGH…gag me! I hate that dinosaur, but whatever HE chooses, he WILL get! So, just another sacrificial part of motherhood along with my pre-baby body… Oh, I MISS it! This MAMA has already joined a GYM… Now, if I could only find the TIME to go!

Biker Baby

Ok, so is this not the CUTEST stinkin' picture you've EVER seen of a baby...or biker baby, rather?!?! Of course, this is EXACTLY what I had in mind, when I thought of Valentine photo. I printed the little "MOM" tattoo off the computer, and ironed it right on his plain white onesie. I absolutely HAD to add the red bandana to make this charming little fellow's ensemble complete. I LOVE IT!!!...and it HAS to be the BEST picture Cade has taken yet. So SWEET. Now, he's rolling around ALL OVER the place and beginning to try and "push-off" with his legs to reach for toys that he has unwillingly pushed aside. This little chunk will be WALKING before he ever learns to sit up on his own! He's constantly BABBLING away when he plays, when he wakes in the morning, during his dinner, and also on the car rides to and from the babysitter's house...WHAT is it that he is saying? I'm not always certain, but I do LOVE to listen to his every word...after all, I'm sure it's something along the lines of "I love you, Mommy."

My Little Big Boy

So, I was changing Cade last night, and everytime I do, I always think about checking out his FAT little legs! But, this time, I was surprised to see that my little CADER TOT's not-so-fat anymore... My little man is slimming down. I guess I didn't really think about the fact that at the Dr. appt. the other day compared to the one last month, he had grown a whole inch and a half... AND lost 3 oz. WHOA!!! That puts him at 27" long and 19 lb. 10 oz. He has always been 50th %tile for length, and 95th %tile for weight and head circumfrance...and as of the other day, he is 75th %tile for length and head, and down to the 90th %tile for weight!... I KNOW...he is still a little piece of chunkin pie. I am so EXCITED that he will be 6 months old on St. Patty's Day! One half of a year old (WOW!)....well, excited, yet somewhat sad, also. For the longest time, he has looked just like my younger brother, Lucas, all the while looking just like me back when I was a fat baby. And now, he is growing to look more and more like his DADDY. Oh, and NOW, after 4 and 1/2 months, SOMEBODY has decided that he likes his BINKY again!!!

The Man in My Life

So, I know this boy... He's kind of amazing... and I'm his mommy. This whole being a new mom thing is WONDERFUL!! You never really know how great it is until you experience it yourself. Cade Evan was born on September 17, 2008 weighing in at a whopping 9 lb., 3 oz. He is absolutely DARLING. He never cries, LOVES to eat, and has the BEST big sister in the world. Kailyn couldn't be any sweeter... or cuter! I am so BLESSED to have my happy, healthy little man in my life. I truly am so lucky. He is almost five months old (WOW!), weighs around 18 1/2 lb. (another WOW!), and as exciting as it is to see him grow, it somehow makes me sad that it has to happen so fast. It makes my heart MELT when I go to his room in the morning (after 12 hours of sleep), and he is lifting his little head up looking around, and when he sees me, he smiles bashfully... how SWEET! The same looks gets me when it's time to pick him up from the babysitter's and he looks up only to be surprised by his mommy standing there.
